  • Holiday Changes and Closures for Curbside Collection and Landfills

    All homes that receive garbage collection on Monday in Penticton, Naramata and rural Oliver, will receive collection on Saturday December 23rd and Saturday December 30th. This change is due to Christmas Day and New Year’s Day falling on a Monday.
  • City of Kamloops launches Waste Wise Kamloops app

    Kamloops, BC – The City of Kamloops has launched the Waste Wise Kamloops app to help residents remember their collection day and help divert materials from city landfills.

    The free app includes a Collection Calendar tool where residents can enter their address into the app to find their collection schedule. Residents can then sign up to receive collection day reminders via email, phone call, or text message. In-app notifications are also available in the mobile app.
  • Lake Country ArtWalk a Huge Success

    With over 300 artists featured and over 3000 works on display, attendees to the 24th annual Lake Country ArtWalk over the past weekend were offered a real treat to the senses. With so much to see visually, the outdoor concert stage and food areas were a welcome break to listen to fantastic local musicians and enjoy some great food and beverage options while regaining the necessary energy to experience all that ArtWalk had to offer. 
  • Stage 2 Outdoor Water Restrictions Return June 16th

    Starting Friday, Stage 2 Water Restrictions begin for customers of the six water systems operated by the Regional District of Central Okanagan.

    Communications Officer Bruce Smith says, “Every year from June 16th to September 15th, Stage 2 water restrictions are in effect for customers of the Star Place, Falcon Ridge, Killiney Beach, Sunset Ranch, Upper Fintry-Shalal Road-Valley of the Sun and Westshore water systems unless other restrictions are in place.
