PENTICTON - The city is counting on two focus groups to provide fair and considered taxpayer input into distribution of Penticton’s new storm water fee.

Kamloops, BC – The City of Kamloops and the Government of Canada are nearing the end of year four of the five-year Homelessness Partnering Strategy (HPS) funding agreement. Between 2014 and 2019, over $3 million will have been distributed to the City for initiatives aimed at preventing and reducing homelessness by providing direct support and funding to the community.

Due to high demand and additional vaccine received, Interior Health (IH) would like to advise the public of the following evening drop-in meningococcal immunization clinics throughout the Okanagan.

PEACHLAND FARMERS’ AND CRAFTERS’ MARKET
Council determined that the current location of Heritage Park for the Peachland Farmers’ and Crafters’ Market is the most suitable. The location and alternative locations of the market were investigated by the Peachland Economic Development Committee and presented their findings to Council for their consideration.

Kelowna City Hall will be closed for the holidays from Monday, Dec. 25, through Monday, Jan. 1, 2018, reopening and returning to regular hours on Tuesday, Jan. 2.

<p>All services and programs provided from offices in the Regional District of Central Okanagan on KLO Road in Kelowna will be closed from Monday, December 25th through Monday, January 1st. </p><p>During this time any emergencies involving Regional District water systems should be directed to 250-868-5299. Payments, business license renewals or new license purchases may be made online while the office is closed at <a href="http://www.regionaldistrict.com/payments">www.regionaldistrict.com/payments</a>.</p><p>We look forward to serving you again at 8:00 am Tuesday, January 2nd.</p><p>This year curbside waste collection is affected during the Christmas-New Year’s holiday period. There won’t be any collection on either Christmas Day, Monday the 25th or New Year’s Day, Monday the 1st of January. As a result, curbside pick-up moves ahead one day during the last week of December and first week of January. During these weeks only, residents who normally have collection on Monday should put their carts at the curb on Tuesday. Tuesday collection will be on Wednesday, Thursday collection on Friday and Friday pick-up will take place on Saturday December 30th and Saturday, January 6th. The weekday collection schedule returns to normal on Monday, January 8th. The <a href="https://www.regionaldistrict.com/your-services/waste-reduction-office/disposal-locations/north-westside-road-transfer-station.aspx">North Westside Road Transfer Station</a> on the Whiteman Creek Forest Service Road will be closed Christmas Day (Monday, December 25th) and New Year’s Day Monday, January 1st.</p><p>The<a href="https://www.regionaldistrict.com/your-services/parks-services/environmental-education-centre-for-the-okanagan-(eeco).aspx"> Environmental Education Centre for the Okanagan</a> (EECO) in <a href="https://www.regionaldistrict.com/your-services/parks-services/parks-and-trails/23-mission-creek-regional-park.aspx">Mission Creek Regional Park</a> will be closed Saturday, December 23rd through Tuesday, December 26th and Saturday, December 30th through Monday, January 1st. ‘Story Time at the EECO’ will not be held on Tuesday, December 26th. SOUTH OKANAGAN SIMILKAMEEN, BC (Wed Dec 6, 2017). The South Okanagan Similkameen Volunteer Centre Holiday Season ON-LINE Auction is ending Sunday Dec. 10 at 12 Midnight. More bidders are continuing to join in during the auction’s last few days and hours.
