KELOWNA – RCMP are searching a neighbourhood in Rutland after a woman was assaulted with a weapon early this morning.
Const. Jesse O’Donaghey says in a media release RCMP were called to a residence on Franklyn Road shortly before 6 a.m. Aug. 16.
“The Kelowna RCMP responded to a report of an alleged assault with a weapon committed inside a residence in the 400 block,” O’Donaghey says. “The victim, a Kelowna woman in her 20s, was transported to hospital with what police to be non-life threatening injuries.”
The victim and the suspect are known to each other, he says, and this appears to be an isolated incident.
The investigation is ongoing and anyone with any information is asked to contact the Kelowna RCMP at 250-762-3300. Remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477, leaving a tip online at www.crimestoppers.net or by texting your tip to CRIMES (274637) ktown.
