KAMLOOPS — A woman was arrested inside the Salvation Army Thrift Store on Tranquille Road early this morning clutching the property she intended to steal, police say.
RCMP Sgt. Michael Buxton-Carr says in a release they were alerted to the break-in by a member of the community who saw the 28-year-old woman smashing a window and entering the store. Police surrounded the property and used a police dog to sniff out the suspect. Buxton-Carr says she was found wedged tightly under a shelving unit with some items.
The Kamloops woman, who is "well-known to police" was arrested without incident and will likely face charges of break and enter and possession of property obtained by crime.
