KAMLOOPS - A woman has been arrested after using an imitation gun during a North Shore robbery yesterday night.

The woman produced the fake firearm and demanded cash near the Ford dealership on Halston Avenue around 10 p.m., Oct. 14. The 53-year-old male victim was assaulted during the robbery, according to a police news release. The woman then proceeded to present the gun at two different residences. She told the homeowners she was looking for someone.

One of the homeowners knocked the firearm away and then the woman attempted to flee on foot. Another civilian was able to grab her and hold on to her until police arrived.

A 53-year-old male suffered minor injuries during the altercation.

RCMP were called to the area of Halston Avenue and 12th Street for the assault in progress. The gun was quickly determined to be an imitation and the female is facing numerous charges in relation to the incident. Police are still trying to identify a second person involved in the original assault.

The investigation is ongoing and RCMP is asking for anyone with information to call the detachment at 250-828-3000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
