Environment Canada warns travellers to avoid the Coquihalla Highway between Monday and Wednesday morning.

Heavy snow, strong winds, and near zero visibility is expected on the Coquihalla Highway, and Highway 3, according to the warning issued by Environment Canada.

A winter storm watch has been issued between Hope, Merritt and Princeton because multiple types of severe weather are expected to occur at once.

A series of weather systems are expected to bring heavy snow to the B.C. Interior. The heaviest snowfall is expected on Monday, but could continue until Wednesday morning.

Travellers are advised to stay off the highways if possible, and remember mountain weather can change suddenly.

To check conditions go to DriveBC.ca.
