Warm, sunny week ahead in the Okanagan

OKANAGAN - If you enjoy sunshine and warmth, this is your week.

Temperatures are expected to climb through the week reaching a possible high of 20 C currently by Friday although Environment Canada is calling for temperatures to reach just above the seasonal normal of 12 Celsius today, March 28. 

Overnight lows are expected to be at or just below the seasonal normal low of 1 C today and tomorrow in the North and Central Okanagan, while the Penticton area is expecting a low of just 6 C tonight. The rest of the week will be just above the seasonal normal throughout the region.

Showers are expected to end in the Vernon and Kelowna areas this morning, followed by a chance of showers this evening and then sunshine the rest of the week. If you are in the Kelowna area, you can also expect winds gusting up to 40 kilometres per hour this afternoon.

In Penticton a chance of showers this morning and this evening will be accompanied by winds gusting up to 40 km/h. Sunny skies are expected the rest of the week.

If you are hitting the highways today expect snow and slippery sections on Highway 5 and Highway 97C after heavy snow overnight.
