VERNON – Hundreds of people braved the rain to line the streets of downtown Vernon for the annual Winter Carnival parade.

Young and old enjoyed the rock and roll-themed parade featuring floats from local businesses, the Kalamalka Highlanders pipe band and of course the traditional bags of candy tossed to the kids.

Even Vernon’s mayor joined in on the rock theme. Akbul Mund showed up for the parade dressed as Slash from the band Guns ‘n Roses. Check out the picture in the gallery below.

The Carnival of Rock and Roll runs until Thursday, Feb. 15 with all kinds of events.
