A lucky couple in Vernon are planning to purchase their first home after winning a hefty $100,000 on a Peppermint Payout Scratch & Win lottery ticket.

Montana Lowley and Jason Campeau were “overcome with emotions” after discovering the win, according to a BC Lottery Corporation media release issued today, Aug. 14.

“I checked it on the self-checker and was in total shock,” Lowley said. “I didn’t know what to say or feel. I think I started crying.”

Lowley and Campeau purchased their ticket from the 7-Eleven on 32 Street in Vernon and were at home when they discovered they won before walking back to the store to verify the ticket.

“It’s pretty amazing,” Campeau said.

The couple are looking forward to buying a new home and saving for the future.

“It’s a life-changing experience. Unbelievable, shocking, exciting and relieving all at the same time,” said Lowley.
