SLED: No video of shooting involving Greenville deputy

GREENVILLE, S.C. - The State Law Enforcement Division says there is no video of a shooting involving a South Carolina sheriff's deputy.

The Greenville News reported (http://grnol.co/2dGwfAo) that SLED spokesman Thom Berry said Monday there was no video of Friday's shooting of 32-year-old Douglas Marrickus Rainey.

Berry said Tuesday that a white Greenville County deputy fired the shot that killed the black man as he struggled with another officer. The officer's name has not been released. He's on leave during the investigation.

Authorities say Rainey was a suspect in a robbery and had been tracked down by a K-9 and the dog's handler. Deputies say Rainey was armed as he struggled with the officer when the second deputy fired.

The Spartanburg County coroner's office said Rainey died from a single gunshot wound to the head.
