VERNON - A young family moving from Vancouver to Calgary had all their belongings taken from them when their moving truck was stolen.

Luckily for them, police have located the U-Haul truck in the Peachland area, Cpl. Spencer Hornoi said yesterday in a media release.

The family had household items in the truck and police aren't sure what is missing at this time. They will do a full forensic exam, then owners will take a full inventory of the items.

Tips from the public helped lead the police to the stolen truck.

"The RCMP would like to thank the public for their assistance as the reports received led directly to the recovery of the U-Haul," Hornoi said.
