THE BACHELORETTE: Former Penticton, Kamloops contestant compares friend to Hitler while friend eats sweet potato

KAMLOOPS - Former Thompson Rivers University graduate and former Penticton residents Daniel Maguire brought up Hitler as part of dating game show The Bachelorette episode this week.

Maguire appears to be the only contestant in the show able to have a conversation with the series villain Chad Johnson, although the subject matter is a little strange.

In the clip, Maguire tries to explain how Johnson’s actions, which are making him the show’s Adolf Hitler, are damaging Maguire’s reputation. Maguire suggests acting more like the Italian Second World War dictator Benito Mussolini or ‘Bush,’ though he doesn’t say which Bush.

The entire time Johnson eats a sweet potato like it’s an apple.

EDITOR'S NOTE: When local people do great things, we consider it our job to tell you about it. It's news. Is Maguire doing great things? Well, that is debatable. Is this news? That's also debatable, but we consider the appearance of a local(ish) man before a massive audience to be of local interest. Each week, I will continue to torture my reporter by making him pay attention to this reality TV series and tell us what Maguire has or hasn't done. We don't expect a new story every week, but you might just find one. If you don't like The Bachelorette or don't consider this newsworthy, feel free to not click it.
