SICAMOUS - The vehicle associated with Wednesda's violent home invasion has been found but the suspects are still at large.

Sicamous RCMP are still looking for help in locating the suspects, a media release says.

A 59-year-old woman with terminal cancer was the victim of a targeted home invasion in Sicamous.

RCMP responded to a report of a home invasion on Kappel Street in Sicamous on Oct. 24, at around 6:24 a.m. Two men armed with handguns forced their way into the home while a woman suspect remained outside.

Cpl. Dan Moskaluk says in an email the suspects had their faces covered with bandanas and as a result no descriptions are available at this time.

The victim, who is terminally ill with cancer, was tied up, held at gun point and kicked in the face, according to an RCMP media release. The woman ended up with a broken nose and was taken to hospital by B.C. Amublance with to be treated for the non-life threatening injury.

The suspects took two small safes, jewelry and prescription drugs before fleeing in a white Ford F-350 Dually pickup truck with B.C. license plate DN5358 that had been stolen out of Armstrong. It has a distinctive rack in the box with orange clearance lights on the cab roof. It has 'McCaig Roofing' on the doors.

A police dog from Vernon along with an RCMP aircraft assisted in an unsuccessful effort to locate the suspects.

RCMP say while the investigation is still in its early stages, they do not believe it was a random attack.

"Currently the vehicle remains outstanding and the occupants are considered to be armed and dangerous," Cpl. Dan Moskaluk says in the release. "Should the vehicle and occupants be seen, police ask the public to not approach them and dial 911 immediately."

Anyone with information about the whereabouts of this vehicle or the home invasion is asked to call the Sicamous RCMP at 250-836-2878 or CrimeStoppers.
