KAMLOOPS - A teenage girl has died after being hit by a car in Aberdeen and the suspect vehicle is on the run.

Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says in a news release that RCMP responded to a report of a hit and run on Pacific Way around 6:45 p.m. this evening, Nov. 4.

Shelkie says a 15-year-old girl was found dead at the scene.

The vehicle did not remain at the scene and there is no description of it, but police believe it is a pick-up truck.

Shelkie says police are canvassing the area and looking for a vehicle that has damage to the front passenger side. A witness says Pacific Way is no longer completely shut down, but it is blocked off at Aberdeen Drive.

If you have any information regarding the hit and run or the suspect vehicle please contact the Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
