KAMLOOPS - The Arkells, Hey Ocean! and Elliott Brood will be among those taking to the stage as part of the Sun Peaks Summer Send-off weekend.
The free concerts will take place Aug. 30-31 on the main stage, slope side of the Village Day Lodge, while other free events and performances will take place at the Clock Tower Stage, Upper Plaza Stage and in the Upper Plaza.
Saturday morning will kick off at 10 a.m. with free outdoor yoga and will be followed by concerts starting at 11 a.m. through 7 p.m. On Sunday, concerts will begin at 10:30 a.m. and the final concert will begin at 7 p.m. The weekly farmers’ market will also fill the square Sunday.
This weekend is also the last weekend the Sunburst chairlift will be running, though the golf course and other activities in the valley will stay open through September. The end of September will see racers take part in the Spartan Race, an mud-filled obstacle course running through the hills of the resort.
The mountain is slated to open for the ski season on Nov. 22.
