KELOWNA – Annie, the Buckerfields cat that was stolen from the store earlier this week, is on her way home.
Buckerfield's employee Colby Boettcher says they received a call from RCMP this morning at around 11 a.m. They were told, according to Boettcher, that a man and woman from Ashcroft had contacted RCMP earlier today and admitted to taking the cat on an impulse.
“I guess she was in here shopping for stuff for a new cat because her cat had died,” Boettcher says. “Apparently it looked just like Annie.”
An employee of Buckerfield’s is currently on her way to Kamloops to bring Annie home and staff are saying they want only to put the unfortunate incident behind them.
“We’re just super happy to be getting her back,” Boettcher says. “There is no way we would have found her with just a partial licence plate.
RCMP say no charges have been laid.
