VERNON - The Vernon Winter Carnival may not be happening until February, but organizers say folks can start buying tickets this Friday.
The theme this year for the February 6-15, 2015 event is Carnival of Rock and Roll, so prepare to see the likes of Elvis, Elton John or the Boss. Previous themes have included Carnival of Superheroes, 2014; Prehistoric Carnival, 2013; and Sporting with Carnival, 2012 to name a few. Tickets go on sale Friday, Dec. 5 at 9 a.m. at the Carnival office, 3401 35 Ave. They can also be purchased over the phone at 250-545-2236 or online at the Carnival website.
There are a few annual events happening once more this time around, including hot air balloon shows from Feb. 6-8 beginning with the Balloon glow at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 6. The light show only lasts half an hour so don't be tardy.
A complete schedule of events can be found on the Vernon Winter Carnival website.
