Spring cleaning means bye-bye to junk

Spring cleaning involves heavy lifting and the City of Penticton will help with its big-item pick-up week, May 6-10.

Getting rid of large and unwanted objects will get a little easier from May 6 to 10.

The City of Penticton will hold its annual spring cleaning week for large and bulky items.

Residents can place out by 7 a.m. a maximum of two items on their regular garbage day. Furniture, large appliances and mattresses are accepted with the maximum weight not exceeding 90 kilograms or 200 pounds per item.

Renovation waste, including toilets, hot water tanks and doors are not accepted.

As a reminder TVs, computers, monitors, keyboards, printers, telephones and audio equipment can be returned at JC Bottle Depot, 200 Rosetown Ave. Not accepted are items using freon such as refrigerators, freezers and air conditioners.
