NEW YORK, N.Y. - Major League Soccer has suspended Vancouver midfielder Sebastian Fernandez four games and fined him an undisclosed amount for a post-match incident following the Whitecaps' Oct. 29 playoff loss to FC Dallas.

With the Whitecaps upset at a late penalty call that led to Dallas' winning goal, Fernandez bolted for referee Mark Geiger after the final whistle and got in the official's face.

Fernendez was issued a red card for violent conduct, resulting in a two-game suspension.

He was suspended an additional two-games by the MLS Disciplinary Committee for contact with the referee.

Fernandez will miss the first four games of the 2015 MLS regular season.
