KAMLOOPS – A second man has been arrested in connection with the murder of Archie LePretre, 23, over three years ago.

LePretre, of Vancouver, was in Kamloops visiting a cousin when they were attacked at the Stuart Wood Elementary School basketball court on March 22, 2011. Taken to hospital with stab wounds, the he was pronounced dead at Royal Inland Hospital.

According to court records, Anthony James Scotchman, 27, was arrested and appeared before a judge to be formally charged with murder on April 25.

No details about his arrest have been released by the RCMP.

Police said from the beginning they believed the attack was targeted and gang-related. They established LePretre had ties to a Lower Mainland gang.

Scotchman’s co-accused Travis Aaron Johnny was arrested and charged with murder in December 2013.

Both Scotchman and Johnny will be back in court on July 3.
