KAMLOOPS – Following a very dry June, it's going to be a scorcher this week with temperatures expected to peak at 38 Celsius in Kamloops.

This heat wave comes after a noticeably dry June with only 3.4 mm of rain over the entire month. On the other hand, May was quite wet and Environment Canada recorded 31.1 mm of rain over the month.

The forecast by Environment Canada is calling for a week of clear skies and hot, dry weather with no rain.

Today, July 4, will be mostly sunny with a high of 32 C. The seasonal normal for this time of year is 27 C.

Wednesday will be a touch warmer with a high of 34 C.

Thursday will peak at 37 C and drop to 19 C overnight.

Friday is more of the same with clear skies and plenty of sun and the high is projected to reach 35 C.

The weekend kicks off with a high of 38 C on Saturday and 36 C on Sunday dropping to about 18 C overnight.
