PENTICTON - The Rotary Club of Penticton donated $2,515.29 to the Soupateria Society. These funds were raised in Rotary’s annual Wheelbarrow Raffle. Soupateria plans to use these funds to purchase a gas stove and ventilation equipment.
The Salvation Army is also receiving $838.43 from the raffle.
The Rotary Club is also pleased to announce the four winners of wheelbarrows full of groceries raffled at Penticton grocery stores in December.
Erin Beck won at IGA, Marjan Kroes won at Safeway, Floss Meller won at Save On, and Bert Van Heukelom won at Walmart. Each person received a sturdy wheelbarrow containing $300 in groceries.
Rotary would like to thank IGA, Safeway, Save On and Walmart for supporting our raffles by providing space to hold the raffles and some of the groceries. This has been an annual pre-Christmas fundraiser for Rotary for many years.
