Rollover in the Shuswap claims a life

SALMON ARM - One of two men in a car that rolled in Blind Bay early this morning was pronounced dead at the scene.

Salmon Arm police say the crash happened around 2:40 a.m., May 6, in the 2600-block of Blind Bay Road along Shuswap Lake.

The eastbound Honda Civic left the road, went into a shallow ditch, hit a culvert and was vaulted back onto the road, coming to rest on its roof, according to a RCMP media release.

Staff Sgt. Scott West says there were two men in the car, a 19-year-old and 20-year-old, both from Blind Bay. He says one of them died in the crash and the other was taken to hospital with undetermined injuries.

When asked for clarification as to which of the two men was killed, West would only say he was not releasing that information and the investigation is ongoing.
