Rockets exhibition to close with WHL division rival games

The Kelowna Rockets will close out its Western Hockey League exhibition schedule this weekend with a pair of games against WHL BC Division rivals.

The Rockets are in Kamloops tonight to take on the Blazers before hosting Vancouver on Saturday night at Prospera Place in the final game of the preseason for the Rockets.

Several Kelowna players have left the team this week, heading to different NHL camps so the team will be short-handed, giving youngsters the chance to hit the ice and impress the coaching staff.

Saturday's game at Prospera Place is the second of two Cops for Kids fundraisers as $2 from ticket sales will go towards the organization that works with troubled kids.

Tickets are on sale for Saturday's game through www.selectyourtickets.com and are $10 for students, seniors and adults and $8 for kids under 12.

The Rockets will open the WHL regular season next weekend with a home and home with the Blazers.

Kamloops will host Kelowna in the team's season opener Friday Sept. 20 while Kelowna's home opener is Sept. 21 at Prospera Place against Kamloops.

Tickets are also on sale for the team's regular season September games, also through Select Your Tickets, online or at the Prospera Place box office.
