KAMLOOPS - A community bike ride aimed at breaking the stigma around mental illness will take place in Kamloops this weekend.

The Canadian Mental Health Association's Ride Don't Hide will begin in Westsyde's Centennial Park on Sunday, June 25.

Bikers will ride along the Thompson River down to Riverside Park and back up to Centennial Park.

According to the organization's website, the community ride isn't a race, and it has routes designated for all ages and skill levels.

In Kamloops there are five-kilometre, 10-kilometre and 23-kilometre rides, all of which are family-friendly. T-shirt pick-up is available between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m., and registration for riders who haven't yet signed up will take place from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m.

The rides begin at 9:30 a.m. and after the event there will be a barbeque, guest speakers and music.

To register for the ride, go here.
