Repairs underway for Sagebrush Theatre roof in Kamloops

KAMLOOPS — After a cracked roof truss was discovered earlier this year the Sagebrush Theatre was forced to close, but repairs are now underway.

The City, Kamloops-Thompson School District and Western Canada Theatre have announced repairs to the Sagebrush Theatre roof will start immediately, according to a news release issued today, June 20.

“Engineering work has now concluded and local contractor A&T Project Development Inc. will begin work immediately,” the release said.

In February, a routine technical inspection led to the discovery of a cracked roof truss which forced the closure of the facility.

Western Canada Theatre will be in contact with event promoters and local clients to make appropriate arrangements for any affected events.

Ticket holders to events at the Sagebrush Theatre will be contacted by Live! Box Office regarding alternate arrangements once they are known.

The box office is asking ticket holders to refrain from contacting the box office until after the company sends direct communication regarding any events in question.

The facility is expected to reopen by mid-October.
