RCMP investigation leads to child pornography charge against Kamloops man

KAMLOOPS - An RCMP investigation has resulted in one charge against a 65-year-old Kamloops man for possession of child pornography.

Kamloops RCMP Cpl. Cheryl Bush says RCMP won't comment on the investigation that led to the charge against Jerry Waselenkoff of Kamloops because it is ongoing and before the courts now. However multiple RCMP units were utilized including a Sex Crime Unit, Child Exploitation Unit and Integrated Technological Crimes Unit.

"They look into electronic devices, computers, and that kind of thing," Bush says.

The investigation began in October 2012 and Waselenkoff is expected to appear in court this September.
