Police tape up in Vernon park at apparent crime scene

Vernon RCMP are guarding a path through a wooded area in Polson Park, Thursday, Sept. 29, 2016.

VERNON – An unspecified investigation is underway in Vernon's Polson Park. 

RCMP have yellow police tape blocking a path that leads behind Vernon Jubilee Hospital through a wooded area in the park along Highway 97 today, Sept. 29.

A police officer was stationed in a cruiser guarding the area this morning. 

RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Dan Moskaluk says officers are examining two scenes in the park in relation to an ongoing investigation. No further information was provided. 

There are unconfirmed reports police have been on the scene since Tuesday, Sept. 27.
