Police seek answers to suspicious truck fire

KAMLOOPS - Police and fire crews were called to the scene of a suspicious fire early this morning in North Kamloops and continue to investigate the cause.

The call came into police around 2:30 a.m. after a truck fire started in the McArthur Island parking lot. Police arrived after the on-scene fire crew deemed the fire ‘suspicious.’ The Dodge 1500 Extended Cab was destroyed in the fire and there appeared to be remnants of wooden pallets and a small propane canister.

RCMP continue to investigate today, following up who owned the vehicle and why it ended up charcoaled at the park.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the local detachment at 250-828-3000.
