KELOWNA - Kelowna RCMP and fire department investigators are looking into a suspicious fire that devoured two cars and charred a nearby house late Friday night.

According to a press release, the Kelowna Fire Department called the Kelowna RCMP for help with a vehicle fire on the 4300 block of Takla Road on June 28 at 11:47 p.m. Police arrived at the scene to find a Ford Focus sedan and a Dodge D150 pickup truck destroyed by a fire which also damaged a nearby residence.

“Fire fighters worked quickly to extinguish the blaze, which had begun to spread to the nearby home, whose occupants were asleep and unaware of the dangers outside," said Cpl. Jesse O'Donaghey in the release.

No one was injured in the fire and investigators are currently trying to determine what caused the blaze.

Anyone with information on the fire is asked to contact the Kelowna RCMP at 250-762-3300, or anonymously call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
