PENTICTON - RCMP have identified a man found dead along Skaha Lake Road early Tuesday morning.

He was Scott Michaud, 28, of Penticton. Michaud was found lying in the south bound curb lane on Skaha Lake Road near Lee Avenue.

Police say Michaud's injuries are consistent with being struck by a vehicle and it appears the incident happened not long before police arrived on scene after 4:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Mounties are calling it a hit-and-run and are looking to identify the driver. They are also seeking a potential male witness driving a light-coloured, late 1990, early 2000 model domestic minivan who drove up and spoke to witnesses at the scene but left just before police arrived.

Anyone who saw the incident or who has information is encouraged to come forward and contact Penticton RCMP or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
