PENTICTON - Tragic news for a Penticton family was confirmed today, Jan 12, as police confirmed murder charges in the case of young mother missing for more than a week.
Family of Roxanne Louie learned through media reports this afternoon that two people were charged in connection with Louie's death.
Grace Ellinor Robotti, Louie's son's great grandmother, born in 1949, is charged with her murder, which police peg as happening Jan. 3. Pier Louis Robotti, born in 1953, is charged with accessory to murder after the fact and interference with a dead body.
Louie, 26, has a three-year-old son.
She was reported missing Jan. 4 from southeast Penticton, after leaving Robotti's house at 1:30 a.m. She has since moved to Vancouver but was raised in the area and was back visiting family. She was a member of the Osoyoos Indian Band.
Laurie Wilson, the media contact for the Louie family, says the family is waiting for Louie's body to be released by the RCMP.
Louie's family learned of the murder through the media, not the RCMP, and Wilson says it has been hard on them. She says they are asking for privacy during this difficult time.
