A Penticton youth will be lacing his skates in Mississauga Ontario for an invitation-only NHL hockey camp.

Davis Koch is a forward for the Okanagan Hockey Academy in Penticton and is one of only 42 bantam-aged players chosen from across Canada to participate in the third annual Allstate All-Canadians Mentorship Camp hosted by NHL players under the leadership of NHL veteran Gary Roberts. It will be held at the Hershey Centre in Mississauga from Aug. 6 to 10. An inter-squad exhibition game will be broadcast on TSN at 1 p.m. ET Aug. 10.

Koch will be learning everything from appropriate nutrition, fitness, on-ice training and mental skills from the pros. Participants and their families will have the opportunity to learn from NHL stars as well as camp ambassadors such as Dr. Paul Dennis who is a sports psychologist, NHL assistant coach Dave Lewis and off-ice training expert, Gary Roberts.

Last year's camp featured 22 first-round draft picks from the OHL and WHL, including first overall pick Mathew Barzal who played in the WHL in 2012. The 2013 draft takes place June 8 and will feature eight eligible All-Canadians players from 2012 such as Nicolas Roy, the number one rated prospect by QMJHL Central Scouting.
