A member of the Penticton Vees has tested positive for COVID-19.
The B.C. Hockey League received word on Nov. 27 that one member of the Vees tested positive for COVID-19.
“We immediately reached out to the provincial health officer for direction, as per our accepted safety plan and they have responded the follow up will be conducted by Interior Health,” reads a statement from the BCHL on the Penticton Vees website.
The entire hockey team has been placed on a 14-day quarantine and all other billets, team personnel and staff who have been in contact with the player will be tested as soon as possible.
“The provincial health officer will dictate any further measures they may feel are necessary, based on the results of those additional tests,” the statement reads.
The league and the team say they will be providing an update on the situation in the coming days.
