PENTICTON - No one was seriously hurt in a crash between a pickup and a taxi on the Channel Parkway in Penticton last week.

Cpl. Don Wrigglesworth says the collision happened at about 9:15 p.m. Friday, Nov. 25 in the intersection of Warren Avenue and the Channel Parkway.

The taxi was northbound on the Channel Parkway when it struck a southbound pickup making a left turn onto Warren Avenue, he says.

The impact of the collision severed the truck’s rear axle from the frame, where in ended up in a nearby creek. Paint equipment, paint and solvents were strewn across the intersection. The taxi suffered extensive front end damage and ended up 200 metres from the intersection.

Wrigglesworth says the drivers of both vehicles were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

The northbound lanes of the Channel Parkway were closed for a period of time while crews cleaned up the wreckage.
