Penticton RCMP chase down suspects in stolen golf cart

FILE PHOTO

PENTICTON - Two men in a golf cart weren’t chasing an errant tee shot when police spotted them on a Penticton street. The cart was stolen and the suspects tried to flee.

RCMP say officers observed the golf cart driving northbound on Riverside Drive on Saturday, Aug. 27. The two men in the cart attempted to getaway by driving erratically through several hotel parking lots and along a walking path.

One of the men jumped out of the cart and was quickly arrested.

A short time later, officers located the golf cart and the second suspect in a wooded area off Green Mountain Road, police say.

The golf cart had been reported stolen from the Wow Golf Course in Penticton the previous week.
