Penticton Mounties cleaned up the streets, arresting suspected drug dealers in their cars this week.

The RCMP drug task force stopped a vehicle April 18 in a parking lot in the 2100 block of Main Street in Penticton. The 23-year-old man and 26-year-old woman inside were arrested for possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking. It's anticipated they'll face the judge on those charges.

The man was also charged with breach of probation. He was on probation for threatening two police officers. The woman will face an additional charge for possession of a prohibited weapon.

The man and woman were remanded into custody until April 22. Each had a lengthy criminal record.

On April 16, RCMP stopped a vehicle carrying three passengers on Johnson Road. All were arrested but two were later released with no charges.

The third person, Caitlin Schroeder, 24, of Penticton was charged with possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking and possession of a prohibited weapon.

She was released from custody on bail and will appear in court at a later date.
