PENTICTON – A 32-year-old Penticton man is dead after what RCMP say is a ‘possible’ Utility Terrain Vehicle crash Saturday night on a forestry road near the city.
RCMP officers arrived at the scene at about 11:40 p.m. on the 201 Forest Service Road, but the quad wasn’t there, so investigators can only assume it was a crash involving a UTV
Police suspect the victim was a passenger and was thrown during the crash.
He was seriously injured and his condition quickly deteriorated, so officers performed CPR until paramedics arrived.
The man was rushed to Penticton Regional Hospital in critical condition and later died as a result of his injuries, police say.
The RCMP are looking for witnesses to the crash and they are also on the hunt for the UTV involved in the crash.
Anyone with any information is asked to call the Penticton RCMP at 250-492-3300 or remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
