KAMLOOPS, B.C. - A B.C. man with a long list of child-porn-related convictions has been designated a long-term offender, given seven years in jail and banned for life from being near children.
Forty-eight-year-old David Caza was sentenced in court in Kamloops, B.C., Wednesday after being convicted of possessing and distributing child pornography earlier this year.
Despite the seven-year sentence, he will spend only 22 months behind bars because of credit for time already served.
Caza has been in custody since his arrest in January of 2010 after police were tipped off about his participation in an international child pornography ring.
In addition to the jail term, Caza has also been banned for life from parks, pools, schools and using a computer to communicate with anyone under 16 years old.
He will be subject to a long-term supervision order once his prison term is up. (CHNL)
