Okanagan Falls thieves caught red-handed

Penticton RCMP walked in on a break and enter of a residence on McLean Creek Road last week, catching two thieves in the process.

PENTICTON - An alert neighbour helped RCMP get their man — or men, more accurately — near Okanagan Falls this week.

Police were called to trailer located at 4505 McLean Creek Rd. just before 3 a.m. on Monday, May 30, after a neighbour reported seeing flashlights in the unit while the owner was away, Penticton RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Don Wrigglesworth says.

Police arrived with a service dog and noticed a screen missing. They could hear people talking and moving inside the trailer.

Two males, 18 and 16, were discovered inside.

A rifle and two backpacks filled with stolen items such as alcohol, jewelry, wallets and keys were in the hallway, ready to go.

The two men appeared before a judiciary justice of the peace and were released with conditions.
