PENTICTON - Police came to the aid of an Okanagan Falls man who interrupted a break and enter at his residence.
Cpl. Don Wrigglesworth says a man called police Sunday, July 17, at around 9:30 a.m. to say he interrupted a break in at his residence on Highway 97 in Okanagan Falls.
The man said he had blocked his driveway, preventing two men from driving away. He directed one of the two to start unloading the stolen property from their vehicle.
One man ran off towards the highway, while the other stayed put. Police arrived and arrested one of the men right away.
The other suspect was caught waving a $20 bill at passers-by on the highway in an effort to get a ride away from the scene.
Brian Barata and Anthony Alfred Yungen, both of Kaleden, appeared in Penticton court today, July 19, facing break and enter and other related charges.
