North Shore BIA releases new 'safe streets' survey

KAMLOOPS - A Kamloops business improvement association is asking for feedback from local businesses on problem areas in the North Shore.

The North Shore Business Improvement Association put out a new survey today, Aug. 2, called the "Safe Streets Survey" which asks local business owners or representatives on the North Shore to provide feedback on issues they face.

Questions about loitering, drug use, and other street problems are on the survey, as well as the effect these issues have on businesses.

The survey also asks business owners who they have contacted to remove bio-hazards like needles along with other drug-related items.

There are questions about how fast those agencies responded and if there was any follow up afterward.

North Shore Business Improvement Association community coordinator Eryn Penner says the survey was put out to determine where these issues are happening on the North Shore.

"We’re just trying to get a hold of where most of the activity is happening so we can bring it forth if it’s being a problem," Penner said.

The survey also asks similar questions about vandalism and graffiti.

If you're a North Shore business owner, contact the association to find out how to get the survey.
