New evacuation orders for areas north of Cache Creek

KAMLOOPS - As the fire near Cache Creek continues to burn, new evacuation orders and alerts have been issued.

Two new areas have been placed under evacuation order near Loon Lake north of Cache Creek, with 14 new addresses affected.

• 5004 Highway 97
• 5293 and 5675 on 342 Road
• 5848 Clinton-Loon Lake Forest Service Road
• 5472, 5676, 5724, 5820, 5834, 5872, 5876, 5884, 5924 and 5993 on 3400 Road

The order was issued last night, July 8, by the Thompson Nicola Regional District. At the same time an evacuation alert was issued for 338 addresses northwest of the evacuation order.

• 15 to 3250 Loon Lake Road
• 3094 to 3087 Stevens Road
• 98, 125, 145, 164 and 200 Cornell Road
• 5296 Highway 97
• 1280 and 1284 Rensch Road
• 1090, 1134 and 1190 Tomlin Road

The new orders and alerts are around the same fire that has lead to the evacuation of Cache Creek and the areas near the village.
