VERNON - Highway 6 is shut down in both directions one kilometre west of the Needles Ferry, due to a mud slide.

As of 3 a.m. Feb. 19, road assessment was still in progress and there was no estimated time of reopening. The next update from Drive B.C. is expected at 8 a.m. Thursday.

The event comes on the heels of another mudslide earlier this week on Highway 97 A between Grindrod and Sicamous.
