Kamloops residents interested in the film industry are invited to meet with a local production company this evening.

The crew behind a new movie project "Lupe Q and the Galactic Earthworms" will be at a North Shore meet and greet for prospective film workers, according to a Thompson Nicola Film Commission news release.

Director Javier Badillo will answer questions and discuss his upcoming project.

“We have been working with Javier since February, identifying potential locations that could work for this incredibly fun script,” film commissioner Terri Hadwin said in the news release.

This is Badillo's second feature film, following "Roads of Ithriyah," which was also filmed in the Kamloops area and released in 2022.

"I am very happy to be able to finally have Javier back in our area, and looking forward to taking him and his team to the places we have been showing them pictures of, and also being able to give TNRD residents the opportunity to meet with him in advance of his casting and hiring of crew," Hadwin said.

The meet and greet will start at 7 p.m., June 13, at the 755B Tranquille Road YKA Film Office.
