Mounties get their men

WEST KELOWNA - West Kelowna Mounties arrested two men on unrelated warrants this weekend thanks in part to tips from the public.

The first tip came on Saturday at 11:40 a.m., when someone phoned police saying Devin Myra was at the Tim Horton's on Carrington Road. He attempted to flee but was chased down by police. Myra was wanted on three outstanding warrants from two separate incidents. He is to appear in Court on September 16, 2013.

Later that same day, police got another tip that Evan Swite, wanted on a warrant, was at the Liquor Depot on Highway 97. Swite also fled so police set up a containment area and did a systematic search. They found him hiding in the bushes of a home on Nancee Way and arrested him. He was later released but due in court on Sept. 30, 2013.

Neither man faces any new charges.

To report a wanted person in your area, please call your local police or remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers.
