PENTICTON - A group of males trying to access Penticton homes by impersonating city staff have led the city to issue a warning.

“In no circumstances would city staff or city contractors attend a home to gain interior access without either prior notice and consent or by showing City of Penticton official identification,” city communications officer Tina Lee says in a release.

Residents are advised to not permit anyone into their homes unless they are carrying City of Penticton identification. Lee notes entry to the interior of a home is at a resident’s discretion and residents are not required to allow entry to their home to private businesses.

RCMP have been made aware of the complaint.

Anyone with concerns is asked to call the city at 250-490-2400 or RCMP at 250-492-4300.
