Most actively traded companies on the TSX

Some of the most active companies traded Tuesday on the Toronto Stock Exchange:

Toronto Stock Exchange (13,952.85, up 33.27 points):

Kinross Gold Corp. (TSX:K). Miner. Down 79 cents, or 12.15 per cent, to $5.71 on 12.1 million shares.

Bombardier Inc. (TSX:BBD.B). Aerospace, rail equipment. Up one cent, or 0.50 per cent, to $2.02 on 8.5 million shares. The shares rose even though Bombardier now expects the aviation industry's business aircraft sector will deliver 8,300 jets over the next 10 years, an eight per cent decline from the previous forecast.

Yamana Gold Inc. (TSX:YRI). Miner. Down 60 cents, or 9.65 per cent, to $5.62 on 6.6 million shares.

Barrick Gold Corp. (TSX:ABX). Miner. Down $1.63, or 6.83 per cent, to $22.24 on 6.6 million shares.

Encana Corp. (TSX:ECA). Oil and gas. Down 15 cents, or 1.54 per cent, to $9.56 on 5.6 million shares.

First Quantum Minerals Ltd. (TSX:FM). Miner. Down 39 cents, or 4.52 per cent, to $8.23 on 5.2 million shares.

Companies reporting major news:

Veresen Inc. (TSX:VSN). Oil and gas. Up 10 cents, or 1.03 per cent, to $9.84 on 1.1 million shares. Veresen Inc. says it has lined up a buyer for its Glen Park hydroelectric plant in northern New York state. The Calgary-based company didn't identify the buyer but said it will get US$61 million plus working capital when the deal closes, which is expected in the third quarter of this year.
