KAMLOOPS - New details are emerging about a high-risk offender who committed several serious offences in 100 Mile House and who police say is likely in the Kamloops area.

Kamloops RCMP says Kendall Clayton Kenneth Muir, 48, pleaded guilty to forcible confinement, sexual assault, assault with a weapon, possession of firearms, uttering threats to cause harm, property damage, and assault but took off before his sentencing hearing. A warrant was issued for his arrest.

According to court documents, the offences were committed in 100 Mile House, but Muir's court appearances were scheduled for Kamloops Provincial Court.

Muir has an extensive criminal history across B.C. with offences dating back to 1996.

He has appeared in courthouses in Kamloops, Salmon Arm, Chilliwack, Vernon, Merritt, Dawson Creek and Abbotsford.

Several of his offences have been domestic files that included assault with a weapon.

Some women have pointed out on social media that Muir may have a dating profile, and may have different aliases.

Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Jodi Shelkie couldn't say much about Muir's online activities.

"We’re aware of many of his social media experiences," Shelkie said.

She's asking anyone who recognizes a profile to be that of Muir, to contact RCMP, and to not go on a date with him.

Muir is suspected to be living in Kamloops and is deemed a high-risk to reoffend, especially in domestic relationships.
