KAMLOOPS - A 45-year-old man travelling to Vancouver by bus was caught trying to transport cocaine and heroin in his luggage Saturday morning.
RCMP say they were informed a man believed to be carrying drugs was boarding a bus leaving Kamloops in the early morning hours Saturday. The man was located and arrested after boarding the bus. Officers seized three kilograms of cocaine and two kilograms of heroin.
"We know the safety of our roads is impacted by the drugs that move through our community along the highways," says Cpl. Dan Moskaluk. "Preventing this significant amount of cocaine and heroin from reaching the public is a tremendous success for B.C. and the RCMP Traffic Services."
The Campbell River man was arrested and charges are being pursued.
